FCE

A functional capacity evaluation, or FCE, is a standardized assessment tool for collecting information regarding physical abilities in order to determine whether or not a person can return to a previous job and to establish overall work abilities and/ or restrictions. FCEs are conducted by a licensed physical therapist with specific training and certification. Through standardized tests, objective data and consistency measurements are determined to establish the level of work that can be safely performed.
